Members Update

Some great scoring last week in the first round of the Club Championships!

Well done to all competitors that took part and good luck for the rest of the tournament. Please see a full review of last weekends action below.

It's been another good week at the Golf Academy with our new clinics gaining momentum and all pupils having great fun along the way. We have made some strong in-roads through networking in the community and this will manifest itself in our clinics growing rapidly in the new year. We have also engaged with a performance mind coach, Carlo Chincarini, who will be offering a FREE peak performance master class to our members on the 16th December. See report below and be sure to book your spot.

We have also been blessed in hosting the Victorian Inclusive Championship in April next year. The Championship was played at Barwon Heads / 13th Beach last year and is sure to attract a stellar field of International and Interstate All - Ability golfers. Please read Golf Australia article

Championship Update!

Some excellent scores after the 1^st round of the Club Championships, with the stand out being Zak El Kurdi shooting a 4 under par 68 in tricky conditions!

Defending champ Imran Muftarov had a solid even par 72 joined by 5 time champion Travis Sharpe. We look forward to seeing how the scores hold up in very challenging conditions forecasted for round 2. Paul Didham is leading B Grade after a solid 81 by a shot over young gun Alessandro Cilmi. Neil Bradshaw is leading C Grade with a very nice 85 by 2 shots over Alex Grioli.

Alessandro Cilmi is leading the Juniors with a strong 82. Bianca Findlay is leading the Women after a nice 82 in the harder conditions on Sunday. Bianca is leading by 4 shots over defending champ Joanne Tey. Last year's winner Anthony Cramer is leading the Senior Men after a 79.

Tomorrow's 2^nd round will also be run as the December Monthly Medal. The best nett score of the day will be the Medal winner! Please remember that we are playing preferred lies in all bunkers. One club length place your ball no closer to the hole. Also with a large field we would like to remind everyone of the 3 minute search rule. Remember you can drop out on the fairway and add 2 shots to your score as an option.

This rule does not apply for balls hit out of bounds. In this case you must replay the shot with a stroke and distance penalty.

Course Update

Our week was once again dominated by Club Championship preparation with the entire team getting involved in the presentation of the course for the premier event of our golfing calendar.

Apart from Course preparation we dealt with a few irrigation repairs in the week. Irrigation repairs took place on the wiring down the 4th fairway and we repaired a mains blow out on the 7th fairway.

All greens had their periodical fertiliser treatment in the week.

Bushnell Wingman Now Available
The new Bushnell Wingman GPS speaker will be arriving in the Pro Shop next week. These are a Bluetooth speaker that magnetically clip to the side of your cart. Through their app you can then hit a button that detaches and can be kept in your pocket for distances to the front, middle and back of the green. We have one set up in the shop ready to go, ask our friendly staff for a demonstration next time you're in!

Golf Academy Update

School Holiday Clinics
Chris and Daniel will be hosting 2 fun-packed weeks to keep the kids entertained and improving during the school break.

12^th-14^th and then 19^th -21^st of January. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 9am-2pm.

Cadet Tuesday Competitions
For those unaware, the next step for juniors aged between 5-12 at Sanctuary Lakes is the cadet membership. This includes access to the course after 3pm (supervised by an adult) and a few other perks. Cadet members can also attend the Tuesday Cadet Competitions that take place during summer. Basically, we get the kids out on the course with a few modified rules to make it quick, easy and fun.

Covid cut this year's competitions short, however we will be starting again in February 2021! Prizes are still owed for all participants last year!! We will be handing out these prizes at the next Cadet event in February (see final results below).

New Codes For Toilets

During the lockdown we repaired all the vandalism to the 15th toilet as well a small refresh to the 6th toilet.

In an attempt to prevent further vandalism to the 15th toilet we have changed the combination on the lock.

To confirm the codes for the on-course toilets are;
